TSPN joins The Seattle Times’ news-partner network

Three years ago, our original site West Seattle Blog was a founding partner in an experiment involving our region’s largest news organization, The Seattle Times – an experiment to see how big and small news organizations could work together. It’s continued to this day, in a very low-key, informal manner … no money is involved, no ownership, no shared management, no involvement in editorial decisions in either direction … but it’s been beneficial in terms of bringing certain WSB stories to a wider audience. Our second site, White Center Now, also joined along the way, and now The Times has just officially welcomed new partners including TSPN. Here’s the announcement. So you’ll occasionally see a story from The South Park News linked from The Times’ homepage at seattletimes.com – and clicking on the link will bring a reader directly here, no republishing or framing, which is one thing we appreciate. We also keep a closer eye on The Times for coverage of stories that matter to the communities we cover, so we will occasionally link to them here too – but there’s no exclusivity involved, so if we find a story of note somewhere else, we’d treat it the same way. Just wanted to let you know, in case you see the link on The Times’ site and wonder what it’s all about! You can check out their ongoing “community news partner” links on the left-center side of their home page.
