Seattle City Council to add $ for South Park business-district support

When the county revealed last week that the South Park Bridge wouldn’t be done until 2014, there was talk of additional support for local businesses that have been struggling through the bridgelessness. Today, some support is on the Seattle City Council Budget Committee agenda; when they start reviewing budget changes during their 9:30 am meeting, one of the proposals is to move $150,000 from another part of the budget to make it available for South Park business-district support. Here’s the item. We’ll check later to find out whether it gets approved. (You can watch the meeting at seattlechannel.org – though we suspect it’ll be a long one.)
