Photos: SAFE organizes vigil as foreclosed South Park homeowner fights eviction
A South Park man is fighting to stay in the home he bought years before economic troubles brought down his company. Last night, supporters gathered for a vigil. Our photos are by TSPN contributing photojournalist Nick Adams.
- This is Jeremy Griffin’s house. It’s been auctioned to a bank, after going into foreclosure, but he says he is trying to pay rent to the bank so he can stay there.
- Elsewhere in South Park, volunteers from SAFE (Standing Against Foreclosure and Eviction) went door to door looking for support.
- Stephen Price places a sign on behalf of SAFE.
- Volunteers and supporters gathered with candles to show support for Griffin’s fight to stay in his home.
- They listened to Griffin tell his story of trying to work something out with the bank.
- Others spoke as well.
- At least one TV crew showed up, and spoke with Griffin about what he’s gone through.
- At vigil’s end, Joshua Farris puts a candle on the porch of Griffin’s home.
You can read Jeremy Griffin’s story on the SAFE website.
