Update: House fire in 300 block of South Trenton

FIRST REPORT, 5 PM: Another fire in South Park – this time, a house fire in the 300 block of South Trenton. Updates to come.

5:16 PM UPDATE: Our crew at the scene reports that it’s a vacant house, graffiti-vandalized, as was the house on Sullivan that was hit by two fires last week, the second one blamed on arsonists. We don’t know the cause of this yet.

5:24 PM UPDATE: The house is sandwiched between business buildings – one is marked Rasmussen Equipment and Wire Company – in case you were trying to further place the location. It’s a stubborn fire – firefighters are still finding hot spots after an hour-plus.

6:01 PM UPDATE: We just talked with SFD spokesperson Kyle Moore at the scene. He says police and fire investigators are looking at this, but no conclusions yet. The fire appears to have started in the rear of the house and spread up to the attic. No report of injuries. While many of the units are being released, they will keep one there for some hours to come, in “fire watch” mode.

8:01 PM UPDATE: So far, SFD says, fire investigators are calling the cause “undetermined.”
